1. Why should I join SPA?

You should join if you want to meet new friends and enjoy your life more while expanding the opportunities for your children. We realize how hard it is for single parents to manage their financial and time constraints because we are single parents! Through the sharing of ideas and support we overcome many obstacles with the help of our extended family of fellow parents who care about our kids. The only thing you need to do, is take a chance and come to a gathering or fun event and meet some other single parents.

2. How often does SPA meet and what do you do?

Our Chapters meet on a monthly basis (kids invited) to bring single parents together for family friendly educational topics. The chapter meetings often include professional, specialized speakers who teach us various skills about being better parents. Open discussions are always welcome and as members we have other single parents to share our challenges and successes.  Most importantly to the kids, is our active schedule of fun family activities like picnics, movie days, trips to the zoo, horseback riding, etc. Others functions include, parents only nights out, special events like CPR training and other social events to bring single parents together for friendship.

3. Is there a fee for getting involved in SPA?

Yes. Currently the annual fee is $40 for your entire family for a full year. We welcome all interested single parents to come and visit a few meetings or activities with your kids to see if SPA is for you. We have chapter meetings on both sides of the Valley for our monthly meeting. When you contact an individual member about one of our events you will find them very helpful and enthusiastic about your visit. Look over our calendar and see if there is something for you this weekend!

4. Will I meet other single parents who are raising their children?

YES! We are an organization made up of men and women who are ACTIVELY raising their children. Some have custody 100% of the time and some only on weekends, but we all take an active role in the rearing of our children.

5. Do you promote dating?

We are not a dating service. We do know that anytime men and women meet, relationships are formed. Most are friendships and some develop into more. Our goal is to make sure our Members are getting the education and friendships they are looking for. As most single parents tell us, "I feel so alone, as though I am the only one out here doing this." Obviously, you are not alone, currently there are over 200,000 single parents in Arizona. Our wish is to bring you together with other single parents for the TLC'S. Teaching, Learning, Caring and Sharing, especially for the kids sake.

6. Do you have Chapters in other States?

No, at this time we have two chapters here in the Metropolitan Phoenix area. If you are interested in starting a Single Parent activity group in another city please send us your contact information so we may notify you of future possibilities on our site. You are welcome to join our online discussion forum to share your experiences or ask for support.
